These artifacts have demonstrated that I understand and can achieve the NETStandards for teachers.  

Being able to achieve these standards is an important aspect of becoming an effective teacher.  That technology should even have official quantifiable standards is a mark of how far the world has come in the past two decades concerning the prevalence of technology and its use in the classroom.  Knowing this, it becomes even more necessary to learn how to use technology in the classroom effectively.  The time has passed for simple Powerpoints and overhead slides.  New media and communication tools are emerging all the time, and standards must be in place so that teachers and students are using these tools in the best way possible and to its greatest possible extent.
